Anemones

Every fall I plant Anemone coronaria bulbs in pots.

I buy a package of mixed colors

but this year (so far) I have only white and bluish purple.

Spring has come earlier this year.  This is what I have blooming now in my garden: Paperwhite Narcissus,

Violets,

Pelargonium zonale,

Camellia,

Meyer Lemon Blossom,

and Kalanchoe.

The Getty Center Garden/Colored Leaves

The Getty Center Garden in the winter does not have many blooming plants.

So there are many plants with variegated leaves.

They add color to the garden.

The Getty Center/ Water and Chairs

The Pacific Ocean is barely visible in this photograph, just above the railing on the far right side.

This pool and fountain is on the main level, a homage to the pool and fountain at the Alhambra in Spain.

These chairs are arranged

above the Bowl Garden.

Another fountain on the main level.

January Visit to the Getty Center

On a bright January day I walked up the Getty Center instead of taking the Tram.

The Center reveals itself gradually.

In January the sycamore trees are bare.

The structures are stark

and not softened by foliage.

The trunks and branches are

light grey and mottled

and pretty against the buildings.

In the Bowl Garden the bare trees are not sycamores,

they are Crape Myrtles.
