Green Fruit Beetle
Iridescent green, one inch long (Cotinus mutabilis) Green Fruit Beetles fly through the garden in mid-summer. They lay eggs in the compost pile and are attracted to the ripening fruit:
figs,
pomegranates,
oranges,
persimmons.

Senna Butterfly
Senna Sulfur (Phoebis sennae) flies through the garden occasionally during the summer.

Gulf Fritillary (Agraulis vanillae) is the most common butterfly in the garden.
The caterpillars feed on the passion flower vine.
