Loquats
My neighbor has a loquat tree (Eriobotrya japonica), planted by birds (?) or squirrels(?).
She gave me a bag of fruit.
I took the large seeds out and dried some in the oven.
And boiled the rest briefly with lemon juice for
making smoothies.

Kumquats
In March the kumquat tree is loaded with fruit.
One eats the whole thing, rind and all. They are very sour and the rind is the sweetest part.
With all the citrus fruit in the garden this time of year, I think of a painting by Francisco De Zurbaran.
This is my version of the painting.
